An original painting, oil on plyboard, 24cm wide x 38cm high. Framed (28cm x 42cm with frame). Signed by artist.
This was painted plein air at a large garden just outside Newlyn in Cornwall. It has a fairly unmanaged section which has exotic trees and shrubs which thrive in the sub tropical environment in that sheltered part of the West Country.
This artist takes inspiration from the surrounding landscape whether it be countryside, a street scene or even a room interior. Whilst this may be the starting point for a painting, the finished pieces may appear more abstract at first glance. The artist’s use of contrasting colours provides vibrancy and balance within each composition.
The artist has exhibited widely including the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Exhibition at The Mall Galleries.
